Oh, that's easy- two men and one woman al in their early-to-mid 30's for a 3 hour time slot with music inter spliced between 6 AM and 9 AM and it would mostly be caller driven with fewer guests.
No more inane "So, how was your weekend?" talk that would put listeners right back to sleep. More caller driven segments, and way more interesting topics relevant to the audience. No more "Did you see what was on MTV Teen Mom" nonsense.
No more 3 or 4 seconds of dead air as the hosts struggle to thin of something pithy to say. No more rambling about their experience at the DMV or the bank or the gas station that nobody cares about.
Drop the out-of-market national sports guy. He adds nothing and he can't even plug his own show because it's not on in this market (duh!). There's a place for sports talk on the show and that isn't it. Let the callers drive the sports talk segment.
Drop the "One Question" line because it might as well be called the "Please prank call us so we can hit the Dump button line".
Oh, and I'd dump the lame, sad HOG imaging. No more pig squeals. No more pig/hog/bacon puns, no more "sexy" voiced female reading the station I.D (LAME!). We are not targeting teenagers hitting puberty. It's supposed to be aimed at adult males aged 35 to 55 (give or take) but all the peseudo-Macho crap is probably turning off any female listeners they have who just want the music without all of the posturing meant to target insecure males who need to hear how cool they still are from the radio station they listen to.
B&B is stale. The Hog imaging is especially stale. The format itself is fine and a nice balance with WKLH. They just need to stop treating their audience like a bunch of pot-smoking insecure high school dropouts.
Treat the audience like educated adults who happen to like rock from all eras and give them a reason to want to keep listening to your morning show.
