From the Cap Times:

Gwen Moore suffers the indignity of CNBC
An editorial 12/15/2008 5:19 am

Congresswoman Gwen Moore has worked hard to save the auto industry in particular and domestic manufacturing in general.

That makes sense, as the Milwaukee Democrat represents a city that has been exceptionally hard hit by failed governmental and corporate decisions.

But Moore went above and beyond the call the other night when she appeared on CNBC, the business "news" network that missed the story of the financial meltdown until after it had hit.

When Moore detailed the bailouts that other countries have provided to their domestic auto industries, the grumpy white men with whom she appeared guffawed and interrupted her.

When she defended environmental standards that virtually every sane observer acknowledges are needed if American automobile companies are going to be forced to get serious about making cars for the 21st century, the grumpy white men attacked and ridiculed her.

Moore stood her ground, graciously and effectively.

She is a strong and honorable woman who is determined to do the right thing -- even if it means suffering the indignity of sitting around the table with brain-dead CNBC "commentators."
