It looks like Pedro's "sold" the $10s for $5, with the announcement in advance that the $5 was going to the charity. I don't think it out of line to promote a worthy cause, *and* put a halo on a station, or a local restaurant chain: It's an every-day occurrence, isn't it? I think most every TV and radio station has a proud accomplish or two, where they helped a good cause, in the moment. Heavy competition in the market makes the (self) promotion par for the course.
