On Wednesday, Sly sent a letter to Kleefisch apologizing for what he described as �my inappropriate comments on Monday morning�s program.�
Sly explained: �Although I do not share Lt. Gov. Kleefisch�s political philosophy, I know how difficult it is for women to compete in the political arena and to be recognized for their achievements.�
�I offer Lt. Gov. Kleefisch and her family my most sincere apology,� continued the radio host, who has frequently backed women candidates over the years. �I have tremendous respect for women who devote their time and careers to public service whether I share their views or not. I regret that my comments did not reflect that.�
Sly deserves credit for his apology, and for his recognition of the importance of encouraging political diversity.
