He left Madison awhile ago, was at WWBT-TV in Richmond, Va. for a stint, then moved to Chicago in 2007 where he is actually Anchor & News Director for CLTV. WGN and CLTV are both owned by Tribune so his WGN reporting today was probably just because they needed someone on the beat. Allison Payne, one of WGN's chief anchors has taken some time off and some of the reporters have been filling in for her.
