Veteran TV anchor Sarah Carlson will be joining Morgan Murphy's CBS affiliate WISC Madison, Wis. (DMA 85), in January as the new co-anchor of the station's News 3 at 10 broadcast. In addition to co-anchoring with Eric Franke on News 3 at 10, Carlson's reporting will appear in all news shows on WISC.
Carlson has worked as an anchor and health/family reporter in the Madison area since 2000. She also worked in media relations for St. Mary's Hospital in between on-air roles. Carlson worked most recently at WMTV Madison as a morning anchor. Previously, she worked at WKOW Madison as a morning and evening anchor. Prior to that, she worked at WQOW La Crosse, Wis.
Carlson recently underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor that was causing seizures. She said she feels remarkably lucky and blessed that it wasn't cancerous. She said she is nearly seizure-free today.
