This is nothing new to most of you, I'm sure, but I must ask: Why is practically every DJ break on Q106 (and other MWF stations, probably) a solicitation? I feel like I'm listening to telemarketers instead of announcers. (Buy tickets for this Q event! Go to Country USA! Enter to win $1000!) There comes a point when such shameless salesmanship makes it obvious that the station cares much more about your money than you. Why not allow Sara Freeman to have a free break to say: "Oh, the Eagles! I feel like I'm back at the Lake again!"? --Something that shows the human side of the announcers-- If sales messages are all they want to put out, why not cut out the middleman and just put the salespeople on the air? (Being sarcastic, of course)

By the way, HD2 stations and satellite radio offer an alternative to this constant panhandling. I think that over-the-air stations (Q in particular) should recognize their Achilles Heel and nip this in the bud before people excercise their options and tune them out.
