As the budget cutbacks continue across the Entercom family, additional names of those who were let go dribbled out at a steady pace on Thursday (Oct. 16). In Milwaukee, PD Mike Nelson left hot AC WMYX, along with Cliff Saunders, who was doing middays on sports WSSP, and word is that two or three other staffers are gone. Nelson had been PD of the station since December 2005 and previously programmed KQMB (Star 102.7)/Salt Lake City. With his departure, Brian Kelly, who's OM/PD of top 40 clusterpal WXSS (103.7 Kiss FM), retakes the WMYX programming reins. Over in Boston, reports are trickling in that as many as 10 people have left the building: Reese Hopkins has exited middays at talk WRKO, with the syndicated Laura Ingraham filling the shift. WRKO morning producers Rich Teter and Andrew Stecker are out, according to the Boston Herald, as are the national sales department's Donald St. Sauveur and WRKO & WEEI marketing director Laura Rieder. R&R has also learned that Dave DiGiando, producer of "The Hill-Man Morning Show" on active rocker WAAF, was let go.
In Denver, Beau Raines exits classic rocker KQMT (99.5 the Mountain). A 35-year vet of the Boston radio scene, Raines went mile-high in February 2006. Jennifer Wilde has left the morning co-host chair at hot AC KALC (Alice 105.9), while morning show producer Gov Landrum exits AC KOSI, and Sky Walker departs afternoons on adult standards KEZW along with one other back-office person from the cluster.
