WISC-TV is aggressively searching for an experienced television news reporter / videographer with the ability to tell compelling stories. This person will be responsible for independently operating our Rock County news bureau in Janesville, located 30 miles from Madison. Duties include setting up news stories, shooting interviews and related video, writing and editing packages for newscasts, performing on-air presentation of news stories, and writing content for our web site, magazine, and other news products. This position includes weekend and evening hours and requires primary residency in Rock County.
Qualifications include a degree in Journalism or related field or some newsroom internship experience that ideally includes on-air reporting and photography work. The ideal candidate must feel comfortable working in an independent environment and be committed to developing sources for stories. We also require knowledge of journalistic standards as they relate to on-air presentation of news stories, accurate and comprehensive writing skills, and an ability to generate story ideas. Producing experience is helpful.
