: thanks for posting this. i must say i'm outraged by this agreement drafted between the prosecution and jeff smith's attorneys, but can't say i'm all that surprised considering his lawyer was probably earning top billing. i don't understand how battery and disorderly conduct have anything to do with fondling a young girl's vagina and can be agreed upon as secondary charges on which to convict if good behavior is shown, but i'm also no legal scholar.

One things for sure...the ex wife is a angry woman in the best of times and not unaccustomed to makin' stuff up...on the other hand jeff was a drinker...the sort of guy who pisses in his closet thinking he's in the bathroom...one suspects the truth is close to jeff's version and ya gotta wonder about that now ex wife waiting all those months to say anything...she's not a girl to lose a court case or a custody battle....I think she did some 1st rate work here and ya almost feel sorry for the weatherman...probably still doesnt know what hit him.
