Midwest Communications Stations Stop The Music For Tune Tax Awareness

Five MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS STATIONS in CENTRAL WISCONSIN suspended regular programming from 8-9a CT this morning (2/18) to raise awareness about the music performance tax thats being considered in Congress.

Dubbed "Operation: Save Our Stations," the company provided a special informational broadcast during the 8a hour, which was carried on Top 40 WIFC, Classic Hits WOFM, Country WDEZ, News/Talk WSAU-A and Sports WRIG-A.

The broadcast featured WIFC morning hosts DAVE KALLOWAY and STACEY COLE, along with other MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS personalities. Listeners were invited to call and discuss the changes that they would hear if radio stations face new music licensing fees.

Listeners were urged to call Congressman DAVID OBEY and Senator RUSS FEINGOLD.
