You're on the right track here, and little things to set you apart from the pack will help, much like putting your demo CD taped to the top of a pizza box when you're trying to get an on-air job. Unfortunately this methodology doesn't work with commercial radio stations anymore because it's long been controlled by corporate playlists and structured label rep time with MDs/PDs.

: So, I have to drop off some CDs at WORT and WSUM over the next few days, and was trying to think of something that might help the Cutouts stand out from the usual crop of promo pablum flooding our fair DJ's mailboxes . I was thinkin' maybe Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls taped to our promo stuff might do the trick, but wonder if that might get crushed and turned to goo rather than be a tasty incentive.
: Right- so- any thoughts? What should I shove in the mailbox? (Be nice, now, kids.) Anyone else have ideas that have worked in the past? Any radio hosts care to chime in?
