As someone who worked in Ohio, I'm gonna defend Z104.

Channel 94.5 in Dayton has NO STAFF, it's all fed from the Premium Choice feed...including Elvis Duran's morning show from Z100 and Ryan Seacrest. Now in Ohio, the Dave and Jimmy morning show on WNCI in Columbus is syndicated regionally, but the Premium Choice morning show is Elvis Duran.

Now on Z104, their morning show isn't based in Madison anymore, but used to be, and it's only on two stations about 2 hours apart. I do agree they don't fit on The Brew, it's a classic rock station and they've a CHR morning show.

Jon Reilly is tracked I believe, but Ryan and Tyler are live and so are most weekend shifts. There are far worse things than the Sean Kingston nude pics bit...I recall a morning show in North Dakota that got in hot water after saying the local AFB was going to blow up the downtown, and this was after a major flood a decade ago.

In this world where syndication and voicetracking is the trend, they're still live for large parts of the day when there's alot of other stations that are being fed from LA (Premium Choice).

Granted, the great land of cheese is lucky to still have FOUR CHR's live and local 24/7 (Kiss in Milw, WIXX, WIFC, and Z93 in LAX) so it makes Z104 look below standards, which is why I think they get a lot of shit thrown at them on this board and others.

So instead of concluding that the locals have rolled over and don't care, consider that they may just be trying to save their jobs during a bad economy and corporate people trying to save their asses from bankruptcy, which is going to happen no matter what.

: And really, nobody from Z104 should be trashing anybody else. Their station has taken a massive nose dive in the past two years, with syndicating Connie and Fish and adding Seacrest. They aren't the powehouse they used to be. Tyler is probably still trying to cover up the heat he got from the Sean Kingston fiasco.
