The CP didn't look like it would improve the signal much, it only made it smaller (now that Q106 is relayed on 106.7 out west). It would've moved it into Madison, but the signal would only be improved significantly on the west side.


: It looks like Clear Channel wants to keep WMAD in Sauk City. 96.3 is currently licensed to Sauk City as a class B1 facility with 5.1kw @ 205m. They curently hold a CP to move the transmitter to the community tower on Madison's west side and change COL to Cross Plains and downgrade to Class A with 620 watts @ 309m. They now have applied to move back to Sauk City, keep the transmitter at its current site (along US12 half way between Middleton & Sauk City) and transmit with 5.1kw @ 214m. I wonder if they realized the measly 620 watts wouldnt be powerful enough to penetrate the office buildings even at that height. In order for WMAD to move to Cross Plains, WIBA-FM 101.5 had to apply to change is COL from Madison to Sauk City - I assume this will not happen now.
