All of those "newer" format types are usually trademarked/patented property of their creator. The creator then allows stations to buy a license to use their format. Once the station pays, they pretty much get a playbook including how to image the station and how to program it. It's essentially paint by numbers.

: How does one program a "Jack" station? Like Charlie, do you day part? how do they pick the songs that are going to be played? There has to be more then hitting the random key and hitting play, always wanted to know how a "Jack" station was ran, any insite would be nice, thanks
