Z104 used to be awesome with the Marc and Vicki show and Scott Tyler at night--when I actually listened not because it was the only CHR in town. Now this station puts me to sleep.
At this point, I'd MUCH rather hear Z104 flip to a KISS FM even with the voicetracked jocks and all. Connie and Fish stink (I haven't heard anyone disagree w/ me on this). More and more of their programming is syndicated (*cough* Ryan Seacrest *cough* on most CC CHRs due to corproate mandate, and Connie & Fish is now syndicated from a classic rock station in Milwaukee) just to cut costs for Bain and Co. down in San Antonio. The other voice "talents" have little personality. They could definitely use some better imaging too--a new voice and jingles, which won't be effective until CC dumps "Less is More". Even though they are okay in the ratings, they certainly aren't as strong as they were just a year or two ago. Hell, 93.1 Jamz just beat them in the 18-34 demo.
In some ways I despise the new Clear Channel ways of voicetracking all the time and turning to a national brand such as their "Premium Choice" programming. What do you think??
