Freakfest lineup announced: Third Eye Blind, ex-Madison band Locksley to headline
City officials and Frank Productions on Friday released the lineup of Freakfest 2009, which will fall on Halloween proper this year - Saturday, Oct. 31.
As in years past, the schedule of events for the celebration will include several entertainment areas and a huge costume contest. Bands headlining the Mountain Dew Amp stage by the Capitol will include Third Eye Blind, Cage the Elephant and Push Play.
In addition, former Madison band Locksley will headline the Urban Theater stage. Locksley started in Madison in 2003 and now is based in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Nod also will play the Urban Theater stage, while DJ Will Calder will take the Frances Street stage, where the costume contest finals also will be held.
Ticket information and the names of additional bands to perform will be released in the coming weeks.
