Brava, the locally oriented women�s magazine that suspended publishing in April, is under new ownership and is back in operation with an August issue.
Brava Enterprises bought Brava; its annual sister publication, Encore, and the Madison Women�s Expo from Erickson Publishing in June for an undisclosed amount. The three owners of Brava Enterprises are Laura Houlihan, Brad Zaugg and Michelle Reddington, all Dane County residents. Houlihan, a former sales representative for Brava and former advertising sales director of Skirt! Magazine, a women�s magazine in Jacksonville, Fla., is Brava�s new publisher.
The business, at 951 Kimball Lane, Verona, has seven employees, including its owners. Houlihan said Brava is honoring all previous subscriptions and extending them for three months.
