: : : : : Looks to me like 106-7 jaMZ is falling victim to the same disease that Power/Hot 105-9 had. Bad signal for Madison yet trying to "be" a Madison station.
: : : : : I think there's an audience for hip hop and that urban lifestyle in Madison, but no one can get it right! The music is on-point, but you NEED a good signal and you NEED to get solid personalities that connect with the music and the audience... not a bunch of white boys pretending they're ghetto (that includes the PD who sounds 75x worse onair than Dan Hollywood Hunt did).
: : : : : Each ratings release has shown jaMz trending down down down since they first signed on. I wonder what Midwest will do in the coming months.
: : : :
: : : : I don't think this is a question of signal, programming or jock talent. I think it's a question on whether the rhythmic/urban format can hold water in an area like Madison or Green Bay. There is a reason why Z104 has been so successfull for so long and why stations like WIXX are so successfull.
: : : : WLYD went to the dumps just like WKPO did. And in time I'm sure jAMZ will join the garbage can full.
: : : The reason WLYLD went into the "dumps" is because Midwest wanted the pull the plug with low sales... so for the last 6-9 months they were on the air they went jockless and let the music go stale, that drove the ratings down, otherwise that station pulled in awesome numbers considering they were in Green Bay.
: : wow, didn't know that.. now what company is jAMZ owned by again? mid-west. if i worked there i wouldn't feel all too comfortable after reading that
: WYLD was owned by Midwest Communications. WJQM is owned by Midwest Family...different companies.
really? how do they get away with having such similar names, in the same area of business? you would think a fight to the death for proper branding would have taken place long ago.
