(Oh, and no evening DJ from what I could tell.) : : : : : (2) At 8PM, "Brown Eyed Girl" was being played--an oldies (!) song that's not really country, is borderline classic rock (IMHO, anyway), and a song that's making me think more and more that this new Q will go in so many different directions playlist-wise when you think it should go down one steady path. : : : : Noticed more Star Country booming through the boom boxes in the livestock barns at the Dane County Fair.... Q used to dominate there. Didn't hear it all. No Q presence at all at least Thursday night. In fact, it's sad... MWF has exclusive rights to the event and they do a terrible job. Very few -- if any -- live broadcasts. Next to no street presence. They must really offer the fair folks a good deal because I think the other radio operators in town would treat that event a little differently. The same goes for Brat Fest, Taste, etc... so much potential... but all you really see are a bunch of banners and that's it. Maybe the street team stuff at fairs and festivals is a thing of the past because of budget cuts, but I think it's a missed opportunity for good listener interaction, especially when your competition is locked out of many of the events because of your "exclusive" rights. : : : : : : Jamz night last night was huge. 10,000 or more to see Jeremih. : : : Ozz broadcasted live for JJO night and his booth was set up right as you walked in. Smile Empty Soul played an awesum show to a packed Miller Lite Oasis. I thought it went really well. I'm a lil biased ofcourse. : : : Our bannering was impressive tho... : : : and Taste? Really? We're EVERYWHERE at Taste. Pre and post shows, killer bands... I'd like to disagree with you on MWF not having a huge presene there. We can't be all places at all times, but we do work our asses off and make sure our listeners know how much they kick ass. : : Don't worry...another year or two in this biz and you'll be appropriately jaded. : : I've been in radio for 8 years....
