I'm not so sure about the average Q106 listener, though. Most of them will be working. Why not have the payoff during AM or PM drive when someone might actually be listening? But hey, this has been a total f-up of a stunt from the get-go, why change now?
The reason so many people are bashing the stunt on this board, and at madison.com, and by word-of-mouth is because it was a DUMB MOVE. If you're going to go with the tired "we'll pretend we're changing formats so our listeners will have that 'I didn't know how much I loved this station until it was almost gone' reaction," you don't keep it up the better part of a week. Wrap it up within the first day, preferably within an hour or so -- before folks remove you from their presets and move on. Whoops, too late.
