: : -New name/branding for the station/music
: : -Music will be tweaked, think todays country and the legends
: : -New morning show
: : -Other airstaff moved around to diff dayparts

: : Basically when said and done new country station on 106.3/7

: : The people at MWF are too smart to throw a real oldies format on the FM. It just don't sell.

: This all seems like a plausible plan. Still, why stunt for a day then... it gives folks a chance to check out Star, Dodgeville, Bucky, JVL, et. al... and they may like it better. Just do the format tweak, etc. I guess this is why I'm not a programmer.

: I think some change is/was needed. The country Q sounded stale. Star doesn't sound much better -- especially with the addition of the CC "premium" jocks.

Agreed on MWF needing to spruce up Q106, but the one-day stunting with a completely different format and imaging (if this indeed will last just one day or so) will only scare away faithful listeners to Star and the other country stations. As far as any tweaking is concerned, it would behoove Q106 to emphasize its live-and-local personalities and reputation. Prove your local link, and don't just say that you're "Madison's Country" (and that Star is "San Antonio's Country").
