WIXX isn't live 24/7. However, they use board ops during voice tracked programming.

WIXX aims to be a 25-54 station while being a CHR at the same time.

WKSZ dates back to 1996. They started with a heavy alternative rock lean (back when grunge was the thing) however slided into the more mainstream of the 2 CHR stations.

When 99.7 changed to a pop leaning rhythmic CHR and WIXX dropped most rhythmic music in 2002 and started leaning on rock. In Milwaukee, WXSS and WMYX thought that would be a good idea because they did the same thing in 2003. However 103.7 went back to playing rock hits by the end of the year while WMYX shifted back to its typical Hot AC self.

WKSZ's ratings were hurting from WLYD and WIXX so they shifted to Hot AC in spring 2003 "Mix 95-9" which proved to be a disaster they had terrible ratings much of the time.

2006 (10 years after the initial launch of the original 95-9 Kiss FM) 99.7 dumped rhythmic CHR (12-24 isn't the money demo) which led 95.9 to return to CHR with a rhythmic lean to grab some of those ousted 99.7 listeners. It proved itself. WIXX has gradually added more rhythmic titles since then, while still leaning rock.

No clue how anybody could stand listening to Star 98 their audio chain is like nails on a blackboard.
