A kind reader recently dubbed me "the resident hipster correspondent for the State Journal, circle-jerking another member of her online clique of self-obsessed bigmouths." Which was awesome, because I had no idea I had a clique, online or otherwise. Sweet. In high school I ate my bag lunches in a bathroom stall alone. True story. Only 10 years later, I have an online clique! I am a social ladder-climbing miracle, basically. Lifetime, are you paying attention? There's a heart-tugging special here.

Anyway, it's my duty as hipster correspondent to inform you of the latest goings on in this elusive, exclusive clique. Namely, talk show host/comedian Dan Potacke (Alan Talaga in real life) posted a YouTube video a couple of days ago in which he puts the screws on Isthmus, Madison's alt-weekly, for coverage.

Hey, us media types can't be everywhere and cover everything at once, so my sympathies go out to Isthmus for having to deal with such brash media whores as Dan Potacke.

But I also urge you to check out Potacke's show on Monday, if you haven't already. It's funny stuff. And I can in all seriousness assure you that I'm not friends with Potacke, nor owe him any favors, so I'm recommending this in the spirit of a cold-hearted critic's pick.

Find The Dan Potacke Show at the Frequency, 121 W. Main St., at 6 p.m. this Monday, June 29. It's free, though he does pass around a bucket/bag for donations. His guests this week are District 2 Alder Bridget Maniaci, UW-Madison professor Constance Steinkuehler from the Games Learning Society and comedian Dave Lebedz.
