MIDWEST FAMILY BROADCASTING Country WWQM/MADISON has announced the hiring of veteran programmer JOHN SEBASTIAN as PD. SEBASTIAN previously programmed CUMULUS Country KPLX/DALLAS, CUMULUS Country WSM-F/NASHVILLE and CBS RADIO Adult Hits WJMK/CHICAGO, along with may other major-market stations. He replaces BRAD AUSTIN, who exited in MAY.
SEBASTIAN said: Im honored, humbled and thrilled by the opportunity to work in concert with the impressive group of radio professionals at MIDWEST FAMILY in MADISON, led by TOM WALKER, PAT ONEILL, TED WALDBILLIG, RANDY HAWKE and TIM MOORE of AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT GROUP. In a world too often full of fear, theyve given me creative license to design something truly unique."
O'NEILL added: This is a powerful combination, and rare for radio today: an employee-owned, debt-free company that believes in live, local radio, and a legendary programmer with decades of experience creating unique stations. Were very excited to welcome JOHN SEBASTIAN to MADISON and Q106.
SEBASTIAN will settle into his new role effective JULY 6th. Until then you can reach out to JOHN at johnseb@cox.net.
