Wouldn't the company want visitors to stay on the station site in order to harness those page views to sell ads? Also, you don't want the listener to associate the radio show with a jock's solo site because when the jock gets fired, you don't want them having the chance to connect with them - it all comes back to branding and protecting your assets as a station owner and employer.

I assume that Mid-West owns the website like it owns the name of the show. If that's the case, I don't understand what the problem is. It does prevent other people from registering "thewisconsinguys.com" and redirecting it to WIBA.com for example. Next thing you know they are gonna prevent hosts form having Twitter, Facebook or even Myspace sites. It's the connected world we live in. Fired jocks have all sorts of access to their former listeners. I used to work with the old Wisconsin Guys and they still have the same Facebook accounts they had when they were at WTDY.
