Owners of analog televisions can get free help and advice in making the switch to digital TV, after Friday marked the final federal DTV deadline.

The Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources has received a federal grant to help elderly, low-income, minority and homebound people who may not have switched to a DTV converter box, said Glenna Schumann, the agencys DTV project coordinator.

Program volunteers can help determine if a TV needs a converter box and assist with ordering the converter box coupon online and installation.

Every analog TV not connected to cable or satellite needs a converter box. The $40 coupons are limited to two per household. Converter box prices range from $40 to $70, Schumann said.

For information, contact the Agency on Aging Resources at 608-224-6300 or go to www.gwaar.org. The agencys program continues through mid-July.
