: Not only that, but I'm sure that there was a decent severance package there too.

: : I hate to bring this up because her situation has already been discussed to death further down on this page, but this has been bugging the hell out of my inquiring mind so here goes..

: : Not considering the obvious "ego" bruising that has to take place when one transitions from a management position to receptionist.. and aside from the fact that yes, you get to have a job unlike many Americans and you get to keep your benefits/insurance...

: : Wouldn't there be a sizeable pay cut big enough that collecting unemployment would be a more profitable situation? Confused..

OK.. let's answer these questions... Yes, I took a BIG pay cut, but kept my benefits. Even at the pay cut, if I had to go on cobra, it would cost half my monthly unemployment. I have asthma and my Advair, for example, costs $225 a month with no insurance.
Yes, it kinda depressing to be sitting at the front desk. I won't argue there, but radio is my chosen profession. I hold a Masters Degree in Radio and Television from Syracuse University.
This is the world I know. I have had other jobs over the years and do not fit in anywhere else.
I appreciate the concern, but it is what it is.
