I said it before and I'll say it again. If you're just going to keep paring the staff down to nothing so you can maintain operating costs (let alone suspension of contributing to staff 401k benefits), isn't that an indication that they no longer have the means to continue doing business? CLOSE UP SHOP. What a waste, getting too big for its britches and employing so many people, for cheap wages, poor treatment and ultimately getting cut loose, anyway.
WHY are they hanging on at this point, exactly?? Their business model was obviously flawed to begin with to employee--only to fire--people in this way.
