Boy, I don't know, paying nearly $8,000 to gain access to a mentor? You could just contact the radio station as a college sophomore or junior and do the same thing. Best of all, you graduate from an accredited college or university with a degree. I hear those might come in handy in this current job market. :-)
No need to hate on this person; he might go on to bigger and better things! If this is the path he chooses, I would also learn as much as I can about all other departments. If it doesn't work out in the programming department, you could always segue over to the sales department.
