ABC to air Richland Center 'Home Edition' on Oct. 12
The episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" taped last July in Richland Center with extraordinary volunteer work will air on ABC at 7 p.m. Oct. 12, according to the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce.
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" coordinated the much-hyped, made-for-TV presentation, which built a new five-bedroom house for the Anders-Beatty family of Richland Center. The home replaces the family's dilapidated one.
Hosted by the exuberant Ty Pennington, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" begins its fifth season with a two-hour special at 6 p.m. Sept. 28. One week before that, the program will aim for its third Emmy Award as Outstanding Reality Program.
Richland Center, located about halfway between Madison and La Crosse, dubs itself on its Chamber of Commerce site as "We're the Wisconsin everybody's talking about!"
Susan Price, director of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, said the show's crew was impressed by the response from hundreds of volunteers and planned to present the hourlong program from Richland Center as its third show of the new season.
