Harvey Time Slots Go To Gross, Limerick

CHICAGO -- March 4, 2009: ABC Radio Network has told affiliates that it will be feeding programming hosted by the network's Gil Gross and Doug Limerick in the three daily time slots where Paul Harvey's "News & Comment," noon report, and "Rest of the Story" formerly aired. Tributes to Harvey have been running in the time slots since he died on February 28 and will continue through Saturday.

The new programming will be fed to all Harvey affiliates, and ABCRN said, "will match the current Harvey feeds exactly."

Gross will host the daily five-minute morning report and the 15-minute weekly and Saturday midday reports. He's a 30-year journalism veteran who formerly hosted The Gil Gross Show for CBS, and who was a longtime fill-in host for both Harvey and Charles Osgood.

Edward R. Murrow Award winner Limerick takes on the "Rest of the Story" afternoon slot. ABCRN said his features "will focus on the day's news mixed with folksy, positive stories."
