: What's Brewin: Provus tabbed as Uecker's radio sidekick : Adam Mertz � TCT : ----------------------------------------- : After lots of waiting, Bob Uecker finally has a compadre. : Cory Provus was introduced last Monday as the second member of the Milwaukee Brewers radio team, making his initial appearance on flagship station WTMJ-AM. He will broadcast his first Brewers game Feb. 25, the exhibition opener against Oakland. : Provus, who comes over from the Chicago Cubs radio team, replaces Jim Powell, who left the Brewers after 13 seasons to take a job with the Atlanta Braves. : With the Cubs, Provus handled pre- and postgame shows on WGN Radio and also served as play-by-play man in the fifth inning when Pat Hughes would take a break. : Before coming to WGN Radio, Provus worked radio play-by-play on broadcasts of Alabama-Birmingham football, basketball and baseball games.
