The Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism received a $100,000 grant from the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation, a national philanthropic organization based in Oklahoma City.

The Madison-based nonprofit organization was founded in January by executive director Andy Hall, an award winning journalist who worked for the Wisconsin State Journal for 18 years. The center was one of 19 journalism organizations awarded a total of $1.27 million in grants by the foundation.

The center will partner with Wisconsin Public Radio, Wisconsin Public Television and the UW-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication to provide free content to news outlets and provide investigative journalism training to students.
