Simulcasting Milwaukee's 102.1 would be rough because 102.1 is independently owned (by Milwaukee Radio Alliance, a partnership that includes the great Green Bay Packer Willie Davis) and they have no properties or transmitters here in Madison.
: I just don't get it. I spend a fair amount of time travelling and I am fascinated that Madison doesn't have a decent New Rock Station. Milwaukee has 102.1 which is pretty good. The Fox Valley has 96.9 "The Fox" out of Oshkosh, Chicago has a couple. I would think Madison could support one. I know 92.1MAD used to be here, and it was a decent station, I am just surprised that something hasn't replaced it.
: I also have a question for radio professionals. Why couldn't a translator station simulcast the transmission for 102.1 out of Milwaukee in Madison. You could keep the same DJ and just change up the Ads? Has anyone tried syndicating formats like they do with morning shows like Bob and Brian? I am just wondering, I don't know anything about the Radio business.
