Dan had several brain surgeries as a result of cancer, destroying a lot of brain tissue. Sometimes he forgets what he even said seconds ago so that is why he repeats things. He was also shot several times and a raging alcoholic, which he talks about on-air now that he's been clean for many years. He even tried stand-up comedy. His radio career has been limited to mainly Janesville/Beloit before he was picked up as fill-in at WIBA-AM in Madison and since WIBA is run by Jeff Tyler, who also runs WISN in Milwaukee they first tried a syndicated weekend show. Now the Milwaukee show is exclusive and he often does a show or shows on WIBA as well as fill-in there like he does at WISN. I'm not trying to spew prays or admiration but he does have an interesting story and a point of view which is what we want in local radio even if it doesn't coincide with your own world view. Paul said to listen to someone else when Dan Conry fills in for Mark Belling and that is always an option. He doesn't need your ratings, heck if you're in radio you know you can't even wear a PPM or fill out a diary.
