It's been done. Remember Dick & Ellen? They let Dick go and it was Ellen solo. Clear Channel is known for making random cuts to save some green.

Interestingly enough, the last time Dick & Ellen were on the air together was 4-1-05, WLUM. Stunt morning show for the station's rebranding.

Ellen was doing middays at WJZI at the time. She had to retire several years back because of illness.

CV (Half of the current morning show with Jane on WLDB) happens to have been a co worker with Ellen. Ellen was on 97.3, CV was on WRIT.

To bring in Jane, they had to cut Cindy Huber from afternoons and move the PD Stan Atkinson from mornings to afternoons. Can't afford everybody unfortunately.

So, why do we cut one half of the morning show? Simple. To save money.

Why was WMCS taken off the air? Money. You really think Willie Davis would have agreed to taking WMCS off the air if he didn't have to? Never. His face was literally painted on the studio building. He was doing something he believed in with 1290. Now that we are in a bad economy, cuts have to be made. Everywhere.

So sad too.
