What are you guys and girls on the front lines hearing from college grads and high school students about the allure of radio broadcasting as a career? Is there a more noticeable apathy now or is the doom and gloom reserved only for those of us who are seasoned vets? I remember getting into top 40 at Z104 right out of college. I did promotions, then got pulled into a couple cross talk conversations which led to a co-host (unpaid) of the midday show, which led to the midday girl letting me run her board on the weekend and eventually me getting part time at the station doing weekends myself and fill in. There just aren't opportunities like that anymore! Or if there are, they are few and farther between. How many full time live DJs are on Z104 right now that could groom the next crop of real entertainers?
