Why is local sports talk so awful in Milwaukee?

We have WTMJ, WOKY (sort of), WSSP, and WAUK all providing local sports talk.

Of those; the only listenable shows are The D-List and Homer & Thunder both on 540 ESPN.

WSSP's local programing is still a joke (Bill Michaels' blatantly racist "Trying to talk like a black guy" schtick is so tired), and WOKY is just a lazy re-broadcasting of the Madison station (yawn).

WTMJ is all corporate suck-ups for the teams they hold the broadcast rights to.

I know The Packers are the only decent pro team in the state, but is this really the best we can do with 4 stations covering local sports?
