A little odd, but the usual Christmas station in town (94.9 WOLX) is also a classic hits station, so now 92.1 can peel away some of WOLX's listeners who aren't interested in the wall-to-wall holiday tunes WOLX is currently playing.

I am a little surprised that they decided to go with classic hits. WOLX has that format covered pretty well. Then again, WOLX has enjoyed good ratings, so this could be a win-win for iHeart if they boost 92.1's ratings while eroding 94.9's.
